The EHX Lizard King is a dynamically responsive, fixed-gain fuzz. Adjusting your instrument volume affects the amount of fuzz. Turning your instrument volume down creates a crisp, fuzzy overdrive, while maxing out your instrument volume overdrives the gain for ripping riffs or cutting solo tones. The familiar VOLUME and OCTAVE controls control the overall output and the volume of the octave blend, respectively. New to the Lizard King is the BLEND control, which adjusts the blend between clean and fuzz tones to achieve the perfect fuzz balance while preserving the attack and low end of the bass. The TONE control is a low pass filter that attenuates high frequencies, while the SUN/SHADOW switch further enhances the sound of the octave fuzz or clean tone. SUN amplifies the octave fuzz with a more driving midrange, while the clean tone accessible via the BLEND control contains more highs and lows. With the switch in SHADOW, the clean tone remains the same but the fuzz tone is tighter.
