Originally unveiled in 1987, the Ibanez RG550 has since been adored by rock and metal guitarists worldwide. This Genesis Collection reissue borrows it's forefather's classic design and adds a few modern refinements. While the original model employed a 1-piece Maple neck, this reissue features a 5-piece laminated Maple/Walnut neck instead and the flexible HSH pickup configuration has been replaced with modern V7 and V8 humbuckers. It's expertly contoured Basswood body resonates with a warm growl and pronounced mids to cut right through the mix, and is incredibly comfortable to play.
