SST Shells

Developed to create a multi-ply, bonded drum shell with all the strength, power, and resonance of a single-ply shell, Pearl's exclusive SST procedure begins with hand-selected premium hardwoods - chosen for their unique tonal qualities - and utilizes the world's first high-temperature hydraulic curing system, with each layer being precisely milled to exacting thicknesses and bonded into 2-ply panels. Pearl's proprietary overlapping scarf joint seams are featured to guarantee an air-tight fit - with wood plies are smothered with Pearl's exclusive "AcoustiGlue", which spreads evenly through every pore and dries to the precise consistency of the wood for superior resonance.

Hardware

Each shell in Masters Maple Complete drums features hardware appointments chosen for their tonal characteristics to get the absolute most out of each shell in the kit. Each piece of shell hardware not only contributes to the tuning and performance of each shell, but also to the overall sound of the Masters Maple Complete kit.

• OptiMount Tom Isolation System - By attaching to each tom via four corresponding tension rod points, Pearl's four-point tom suspension system holds the shell securely in place during performance, while offering flexible positioning. By removing the mounting hardware off the shell, the drums are able to resonate freely, and sing with it's natural voice.
• Superhoop II - A robust triple-flanged hoop constructed at an optimum 2.3mm thickness, each Superhoop II is identity stamped and manufactured to deliver solid and precise tuning, without compromising shell resonance.
• CL Bridge Lugs - Designed for outstanding tuning integrity, and minimal shell contact, the CL Bridge Lug employs a floating brass swivel nut and nylon shell isolators for a more secure thread hold and greater shell tone.
