The latest Digiface AES is a professional, bus powered, 14 in, 16 out USB 2.0 interface with 2 Mic/Line universal analog input channels and 4 analog output channels complimenting it's digital I/O section. Buspower compatibility meets flexible Analog I/O Performance For the main inputs, RME uses the proven mic/line preamps in the Babyface Pro FS XLR combo configuration. Two digitally controlled preamps provide independently switchable 48V phantom power. These circuits boast a 75dB gain range, adjustable in 1dB increments, including a relay-controlled PAD, providing excellent EIN (Equivalent Input Noise) performance as well as line overload protection- and plenty of gain for even the quietest mics. On the back of the Digiface AES are two balanced analog outputs via XLR connectors to drive power amps, active monitors, or recordings. The headphone output allows for additional independent high-quality monitoring, with sufficient output power and volume for both high and low impedance headphones. Versatile Digital Input and Output Connectivity A comprehensive set of digital I/O centered around AES/EBU input and output over XLR also includes SPDIF coaxial, SPDIF optical or 8-channel ADAT. All I/O can be used simultaneously, making the device a Swiss Army Knife interface for sending and receiving all common digital audio formats. An integrated SRC (Sample Rate Converter) can be switched to any of the 3 inputs to solve clocking issues and adapt to other sample rates. This allows, for example, a device to be AES clock synchronized from the main source while listening to SPDIF simultaneously. MIDI I/O via the included breakout cable completes the package. Full Stand-alone Functionality Convenient direct access and control of all functions and the device is available directly from the front panel. Four buttons and the encoder, a high-resolution, clear color display and a well-structured menu allow you to quickly change and configure your device. Six different device settings can be saved in the internal memory. This will transform your interface into completely different devices at the touch of a button.
