Roger Sadowsky has made it his mission to further improve an already very successful bass design by making a number of detailed improvements. Together with the electronics he developed, he has managed to take the well-known J/J bass sound to a new level, so that today one can speak of a typical Sadowsky Tone: never harsh sounding, with deep, defined, by no means dull basses, present but not intrusive mids and sweet and airy highs. All features of this modern bass sound can also be found in the MetroLine Artist model by Will Lee, known as one of the best and most requested session players (David Letterman Show, Horace Silver, George Benson, Bette Middler and many others). The five-string version – here in a glossy Solid Black High Polish Finish – has a slightly reduced J-Style body made of swamp ash, a slightly slimmer neck with a fretboard made of maple, the preamp specially adapted to The Will Lee's wishes with an additional mid-boost at 500 or 800 Hz for more punch, a J/J pickup configuration, Vintage Tone Control, Treble as well as Height Boost, the ultra-light Sadowsky vocal mechanics and the special Sadowsky bridge, which allows a quick string change. This Artist model is made exclusively in Germany. All basses have a weight of approx. 4.0 kg and are therefore also interesting for bassists who are looking for a modern bass sound as well as a lightweight solution for the stage.
