In 1980, the TAMA Mastercraft Bell Brass Snare Drum was born. At the time, the Bell Brass was designed to match the explosive sound of the new decade of Music, resulting in the purest snare sound ever achieved. TAMA's bell brass snare drum was widely used in heavy rock music in the 80's and 90's and was at one time known as the "Terminator". Although it produced an aggressive sound, its versatility was unparalleled and later found itself in the hands of the world's best jazz and fusion drummers of that time.

Now, almost half a century later, the TAMA Mastercraft ``The Bell Brass'' 50th Anniversary Reissue pays homage to this legendary sound. This super heavy bell brass kettle is made from a special copper and tin alloy and molded into a 3mm thick shell, producing extreme volume and excellent range of sound. The Mastercraft "The Bell Brass" 50th Anniversary Reissue is recreated as faithfully as possible to the original specifications, once again offering drummers an iconic and timeless sound.
