Solid State Logic SSL 500 Series LMC+ Compressor Module
The LMC+ module takes the classic SSL Listen Mic Compressor, significantly enhances it, and puts it into a 500 Series housing. This famous processor originally found on the iconic SSL 4000 E console was the secret sauce in the arsenal of many pro engineers. Originally designed to protect the return feed of a talkback mic from clipping, the fixed attack and release times were found to be incredibly useful on drum room mics for parallel processing.
As well as a classic pair of SSL high-pass and low-pass filters for targeting specific frequency ranges, a sidechain option from filter to compressor, and a wet/dry mix control, the LMC+ also features two additional great new tools have been added to give a unique sonic touch. A 'Scoop' button to flip the phase of the wet signal and a unique 'Split' button to activate the bandpass subtraction mode. Used together, individually, and in combination with filters and sidechains, the new controls give the LMC+ a unique tonal edge and open up a world of creative possibilities. Key features
