TASCAM Sonicview 24 Digital Mixing Console
The TASCAM Sonicview 24 features motorized channel faders in three banks of eight, and a motorized stereo fader for the main bus. Above each bank of channel faders is a colored touch panel that lets you see an entire mixer channel, or control each parameter at your fingertips for more detail.
The Amazing VIEW
- Select Channel Strip View to see the status of eight adjacent channels at a glance, much like vertical channel strips on an analog mixer.
- The Module View allows you to monitor and control any two sets of parameters for a single channel, including compressor, graphic EQ, effect send, and more.
- Individual view is the ultimate in customized viewing. All functions for any channel, group of channels, and more, can be displayed on different screens at the same time. For example, you can monitor the output bus meters on screen 1 and the key channel input levels on screen 2 simultaneously.
High-end Audio Quality
TASCAM Sonicview offers best-in-class audio performance, thanks to a 54-bit floating point FPGA mixing engine, 32-bit/96kHz high resolution, continuous sampling, and 32-bit analog-to-digital converters. The mixing engine's floating-point processing allows flexible levels without compromising resolution, and the FPGA mixing engine maintains ultra-low latency even on analog-to-analog connections. The result is uncompromising performance, even with Dante networks and inline monitoring systems.
Input Channels and Processing
The TASCAM Sonicview 24 features 24 channels with XLR mic/line inputs, or 8 channels with XLR mic inputs and balanced TRS line inputs. There are also TRS insert points on two channels, two stereo pairs of RCA AUX inputs, and an XLR input to connect a talkback mic.
Channel Control and Processing
TASCAM Sonicview offers more than meets the eye. Internally, TASCAM Sonicview mixers feature 40 mono channels, 2 stereo and 4 stereo FX return channels, so you can mix in backing tracks and make a small worship band sound larger-than-life, expand physical audio inputs via the expansion slots for bigger sessions, mix dozens of his DAW tracks, and manage sources from any section of the venue via the Dante network. Eight DCAs allow easy control of groups of channels. Programmable layer buttons select custom combinations of channels and output busses controlled by motorized faders. Each input channel can use any or all of 11 individually configurable processing functions:
- Delay(Input/Pre-fader)
- Gate/Expander/De-esser
- Mix 1-22 Send/Pan(Pre/Post)
- Phase
- 4-band Parametric EQ
- FX 1-4 Send/Pan(Pre/Post)
- Digital Trim
- Compressor/Ducker
- Fader/Pan/Mute to L/R
- High-pass Filter
- Solo
Top-of-the Line Class 1 HDIA Mic Preamps
Each TASCAM Sonicview mic input feeds a TASCAM Class 1 HDIA (High Definition Instrumentation Architecture) preamplifier. This is the best mic preamp TASCAM has ever manufactured. The HDIA Class 1 mic preamp has fantastic EIN, S/N ratio, distortion ratio, and frequency response thanks to an instrument amplifier with good incredible noise characteristics in the first stage. TASCAM Sonicview ultra-high definition mic preamps pick up the tiniest nuances, from the rosin of a violin bow to subtle dynamic changes in voices and brass instruments. The mic inputs can handle signals up to +32 dBu, providing sufficient headroom for sudden level spikes.
The combination of Class 1 HDIA preamps, 32-bit/96kHz ADC and 54-bit FPGA mixing engine is impressive, but it doesn't stop there. Extensive internal and external evaluations were conducted to tune TASCAM Sonicview mixers for perfect performance. The result is a premium sound that never fails.
Built-in USB Audio Interface and Stereo Recording
The onboard 32-in/32-out USB audio interface featured in TASCAM Sonicview makes it a winning front end for recording live events as well as recording and broadcast. Record any channel's direct out, flex busses and the main L/R bus into your favorite DAW at up to 96kHz, with the same 32-bit precision used throughout TASCAM Sonicview. You can record the main mix directly to the onboard stereo SD/USB recorder. Useful if a band wants to listen back to a performance in a hotel or bus. Connect a USB flash drive to record in stereo via the top panel connector.Physical Outputs and Expansion Capability
Output Buses and Processing
A wealth of output buses are available with powerful signal processing and flexible routing options. In addition to the main L/R stereo bus, the TASCAM Sonicview 24 offers 22 output flex busses, each of which can be configured as a subgroup, aux, or matrix. Provide multiple stereo in-ear monitor submixes and send them to analog outputs without running out of busses. Create matrix mixes of multiple speaker zones and send to restaurants and worship services over the Dante network. All output buses feature 31-band graphic EQ, real-time spectrum analyzer, 4-band parametric EQ, compressor/ducker, delay, solo, pan and mute. By assigning four additional effects processors to individual mixer channels, you can get even more, including stunning reverb effects.
Dante-enabled for Superior Networking
Dante® Audio-over-IP networks integrate thousands of concert touring systems and systems installed in recording studios, radio stations, conference rooms, churches and more. TASCAM Sonicview console can act as the audio center for these systems thanks to its integrated 64-in/64-out Dante interface with Dante Domain Manager support and AES67 and SMPTE ST 2110 interoperability. Two Dante ports allow for redundant streams.
Remote Control and Offline Editing
Whether onstage, backstage, in the control room, or at the back of an arena, you'll always have total control of your TASCAM Sonicview 24 mixer. Simply connect your Wi-Fi router to the TASCAM Sonicview's Ethernet port and use the free TASCAM Sonicview Control software for macOS, Windows and iPadOS to manage your TASCAM Sonicview 24 from essentially anywhere in the venue. Edit settings in advance offline to be ready when the session or show starts, then adjust via console or software.
Work Quickly with Function Keys
TASCAM Sonicview offers intuitive analog-like operation while providing a variety of convenient digital functions that can be customized to suit your needs. Assign 18 custom function keys for internal recording, playback, etc. Certain controls are conveniently pre-assigned with functions such as Sends on Fader and Snapshot Recall, but can be redefined to suit your needs. A footswitch (sold separately) can be used to tap tempo delay time.
Clear, Mistake-free Navigation
When you're mixing a show, broadcast, or critical recording session, you can't afford to press the wrong button or grab the wrong control. TASCAM's Sonicview mixing interface lets you see at a glance what you're controlling, even in a dim concert hall. Each channel strip includes a channel name LCD with full-color LED. The user buttons are equipped with full-color LEDs, so each input source and function can be grouped by color for easy navigation. The solo and channel select buttons have distinctive shapes, and the mute button is protected by a cap. With these features and a customizable touch panel, you always know where you are and what you're controlling.
External Control, Clocking, and More
In addition to audio I/O, Dante and USB connectivity, TASCAM Sonicview features an 8-in/8-out GPIO connector (on a DB25 connector) for external control, making it perfect for event and relay applications. BNC word clock In and Out/Thru allows for digital audio synchronization, and an Ethernet port connects to a Wi-Fi router for wireless control. The TASCAM Sonicview also has two TASCAM expansion slots, which accept a selection of expansion cards.
The Music Never Stops
Your business depends on reliable equipment that keeps you up and running with minimal disruption, and TASCAM Sonicview is designed with that in mind. TASCAM Sonicview's mixing engine and real-time operating system are completely decoupled from the physical mixing surface, vastly improving stability. In the unlikely event that a mixing surface becomes inoperable, the audio won't stop and operation can be restored by restarting the control surface's operating system. The show goes on.
